Federal Grants

Grant seekers can search for federal funding opportunities, additional information is available here.

The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) provides a full listing of all Federal programs available to State and local governments; federally-recognized Indian tribal governments; Territories and possessions of the United States; domestic, public, quasi-public, and private profit and nonprofit organizations and institutions; specialized groups, and individuals.  The website is http://www.cfda.gov.  Once you have found the desired federal assistance program, contact the office that administers the program for application instructions. 

The Foundation Center (http://foundationcenter.org) identifies potential sources for private, corporate and community foundations, and offers guides to writing grant proposals.

The U. S. House of Representatives maintains a list of federal funding resources at
http://www.house.gov/ffr/resources_all.shtml.

Letters of Support for Federal Grants

Letters of support can be written only for organizations and individuals within the First Congressional District of Colorado. Please submit a brief written description of your organization, along with all relevant information regarding the grant and application deadline to Representative DeGette’s District Office.  Please allow four weeks to process such requests.

Additional Federal Funding Resources

Student Loans and Student Aid. Students seeking financial aid should search the Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid website at http://www.studentaid.ed.gov.

Government Benefits.  Individuals seeking information regarding government benefits may find useful the website http://www.govbenefits.gov.

Small Business Administration.  The federal government provides assistance in the forms of loans, advisory, and technical assistance through the Small Business Administration website at http://www.sba.gov/.
