For the fourth year, the Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas (CFC-O) partnered with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) to run an Elementary School Art Contest. Overseas DoDDS elementary school students submitted original artwork to help inspire charitable giving through the CFC-O, tailoring their drawings to illustrate the contest theme: Give to make a difference. Give because you care.
Participation is entirely voluntary and is encouraged as a 'homework' assignment thereby involving parents and rippling the campaign message through the community. Hundreds of submissions were received from over 15 schools. Contestants were judged by a panel of DoD members based in Washington, D.C. based on artistic merit, creativity and depiction of the theme. First through third place winners were chosen in each grade level.
All participating students received a sticker and a Certificate of Achievement signed by the CFC-O Executive Director, Victoria Adams. The first-place winners in each grade will receive a framed copy of their original artwork. All winners will be promoted via press releases, on the CFC-O website and via social media. Winning artwork will be featured in CFC-O promotional materials throughout the 2014.
