U.S. Cyber Command, the services, and U.S. partners and allies are working together to make cyberspace a suitable place for military command and control. For the Defense Department, the focus for security in cyberspace includes the full spectrum of 21st century operations.
By 2014, there will be 133 comprised of about 6,000 people with three core missions.

For U.S. Cyber Command, the goal of the services is to generate a total cyber mission force all trained to the same high standard, aligned in teams, for key missions.

  • 1. The Cyber Combat Mission Force provides cyber support to combatant commanders across the globe.
  • 2. The Cyber Protection Force operates and defends the DoD information network, or DoDIN.
  • 3. The Cyber National Mission Force, when directed, is responsible for defending the nation's critical infrastructure and key resources.
