Legislative Process
While thousands of bills will be introduced in the 113th Congress, only a small number of them will become law. From the time they are introduced until they signed by the President, the bills will go through committee hearings, mark-ups and debate by both members of Congress. While there are numerous routes a bill can take to become a law, the following video from the US Library of Congress explains the regular order for a bill to become a law.
