• I am so proud of our President today for taking action to address our broken immigration system, unite families, and deport criminals rather than children.
  
  By using our limited enforcement capabilities to go after felons rather than break up families, America will be safer. The new policy benefits our economy, improves national security, reduces crime, and better reflects our values as Americans by removing the imminent fear of deportation from hard-working aspiring Americans.
  
  And of course it's important to remember that only Congress can fully address the multiple dimensions to this issue including border security, workplace enforcement, and a pathway to citizenship for aspiring Americans. Hopefully the President's actions will spur Congress to finally take on this issue in the coming months, but in the mean time I applaud him for doing what he can with the legal authority he has.
  
  If you didn't catch it, here is today's 15 minute speech announcing the President's new policy. I look forward to working with the administration to implement this effort to focus on catching criminals and to having several clinics across Colorado to help immigrants register.

• One of my top priorities in Congress has been creating new educational opportunities for students, no matter what their background. As our economy continues to modernize, more and more of the best paying career fields require an education in the Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) fields.
  
  Currently, women are very underrepresented in STEM education programs, and thus the prestigious careers that can follow.
