ABOUT

The Medical Technology Caucus (MTC) was formed in 1993 to increase awareness among Members and staff of the unique issues facing the medical technology sector--an industry that has become increasingly important as dramatic improvements over the last decade have revolutionized healthcare.  Technological innovation in the delivery of healthcare has saved lives and improved the quality of life for all Americans.

The Caucus is informal and does not endorse legislation or take positions on policy matters.  Rather, the organization exists solely to provide a forum for the discussion of critical issues relating to medical technology.

The MTC holds briefings to discuss the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) medical device approval process and regulation of the devices, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services (CMS) coverage policies under Medicare, the impact of healthcare reform on medical technology, as well as other topics relevant to the medical technology sector.
