About the Co-Chairs

The Motorcycle Caucus in the United States House of Representatives is co-chaired by Rep. Michael Burgess, M.D. (R-TX) and Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ).  Together with roughly 20 other members of the caucus, Reps. Burgess and Giffords are proven leaders on Capitol Hill for riders, their families, and all Americans that share the roads with motorcycles.

A third generation Tucsonan, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has represented her hometown and Southern Arizona for more than ten years.  She first served in the Arizona Legislature from 2000-2005, where she was the youngest woman ever elected to the Arizona State Senate.  In 2006, she was elected to represent Arizona's 8th congressional district, and has twice won re-election, in 2008 and 2010.

After spending nearly three decades practicing medicine in North Texas, Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D., was first elected to Congress in 2002, and has was re-elected in 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010.

Together, Reps. Burgess and Giffords lead a bipartisan group of talented legislators with a unique understanding and commitment to the issues that face riders everywhere.
