Van Hollen Applauds White House Stance on Tax Extenders
Nov 25, 2014
Press Release
Washington, DC – Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, issued the following statement on the fiscal year 2014 deficit numbers:
“Today’s announcement shows that we have made substantial progress in reducing our deficit – the deficit this year is the lowest deficit as a percentage of GDP since 2007 and $197 billion less than fiscal year 2013. The best way to reduce future deficits is to continue the same strategy that has allowed us make this progress: President Obama’s focus on boosting economic growth and a balanced approach of targeted spending cuts and closing unproductive special interest tax breaks.”
