A Concerned Sheriff on President Obama's Executive Amnesty

Nov 21, 2014
Editorial

I wanted to share the below letter I recieved from a concerned North Florida Sheriff regarding the President's executive amnesty.

Let’s look at this another way.  While you‘re not looking, someone sneaks into the unlocked back door to your home, obviously without your consent or permission, and moves into your house.  When you find the intruder, you call the police to report the burglary.  But the police tell you that since the burglar is already inside it would be too difficult to remove him.  Furthermore, while overstepping his authority, the Sheriff has decided to ignore the crime and grant amnesty to the intruder and allow them to sleep in your bed, eat your food and drive your car, even though the legislature has clearly declared all of this to be a crime.  Now imagine this happening hundreds or thousands of times in your county.  It wouldn’t be too long before that Sheriff would be looking for a new job.  Sound familiar?

I introduced, "The Executive Amnesty Prevention Act" to stop the President's reckless actions. You can read more about the legislation and my thoughts on immigration by clicking the following link: http://yoho.house.gov/media-center/editorials/the-amnesty-prevention-act
