Agriculture represents the second-largest industry in Florida.  For a state as large and dynamic as ours, this means agriculture impacts a lot of people--and a lot of jobs.

As Florida's only voice on the House Committee on Agriculture, I am committed to putting my 30 years of experience working directly with farmers as a large-animal veterinarian to work for you.

Gainesville, FL – Congressman Ted S. Yoho (R-FL-03), the only Florida member of the House Committee on Agriculture, finished a two-day agriculture tour of South Florida.  He visited the Port of Miami as well as various working farms in Dade County. At the end of his tour, Yoho gave this statement.

 Washington, DC – Congressman Ted S. Yoho’s H.R. 1528, “The Veterinary Medicine Mobility Act” (VMMA), was signed into law today by President Obama. This is the first bill Congressman Yoho has had signed into law, and now places him among only eight Freshman Members to have had this achievement. The bill makes modifications to the Controlled Substances Act and Drug Enforcement Administration policy that, to date, has prohibited veterinarians from transporting controlled substances to administer and treat patients outside of the registered location.

Congressman Ted S. Yoho (R-FL-03) offered two amendments to the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act -H.R. 4923. His first amendment would limit the administration’s ability to create and enforce rules that would increase the cost of electricity and decrease the U.S. grid’s reliability. Chairman Simpson (R-Idaho) expressed appreciation and a willingness to work with Congressman Yoho in including similar language in the final bill.

Washington, D.C.  - Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL-03) has written a letter to two Appropriations subcommittees; the Energy, Water Development, and Related Agencies Subcommittee and the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Subcommittee. Congressman Yoho is requesting that language be inserted in their respective appropriations bills ensuring the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Army Corp of Engineers will not implement new rules on navigable waters.

The FUELS Act – which Congressman Yoho co-sponsored - modifies the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) burdensome farm fuel storage regulation.
