Press Release
This week, Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) was recommended for appointment to the House Committee on Financial Services for the 114th Congress. The committee, led by Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), oversees issues regarding the economy, banking system, housing, insurance, and securities and exchange. Additionally, the committee has jurisdiction over monetary policy, international finance, and international monetary organizations.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on this powerful committee,” said Williams. “As a small business owner for more than 40 years, I know the harmful effects President Obama’s fiscal policies have had on families and businesses across the country. I am eager to work with Chairman Hensarling and my colleagues to reduce the onslaught of government overregulation and reform crucial sectors of the financial industry. I am committed to protecting the free market, personal choice, and our individual freedoms.”

Chairman Hensarling said: “I look forward to working with my friend and fellow Texan Roger Williams on the Financial Services Committee. With his decades of experience running his family’s business, I am confident Rep. Williams will be a strong advocate for common-sense solutions to strengthen our economy and help job creators thrive.”
