Congresswoman Ann Wagner

Representing the 2nd District of Missouri

Art Competition

Each spring, the Members of the United States House of Representatives sponsor the Congressional Art Competition. This competition is an opportunity to recognize the artistic talent of students in Missouri’s 2nd District and throughout the nation. The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for Members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, over 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition.

Congratulations to Greer Wetherington whose Caffeine Capital won first place in the 2nd District’s 2014 Art Competition and will hang in the United States Capitol for the next year.  All the 2014 submissions from the 2nd District's talented high school artists can be viewed here.

The Congressional Art Competition is open to all high school students in the 2nd District. The winning piece from our district will be displayed for one year in the United States Capitol with the other winners from across the nation.  The winning artist will receive round trip airfare to attend the Congressional Art Competition Reception in Washington, D.C.  Contact Jaci Winship at jaci.winship@mail.house.gov or 636-779-5449 for additional information.
