Rep. Wagner's Statement on Republican Controlled Senate

Ballwin - Today Congresswoman Ann Wagner issued the following statement about what kind of policies that will be enacted in a Republican controlled senate:

“The American people have chosen a new direction for our nation.  An era that will not be defined by raising taxes, growing the size and scope of the federal government and increasing red tape for small businesses and families, but by empowering the American people to seize control of their own destiny,” said Rep. Wagner.  “Republicans have the solutions that will increase upward mobility, bring accountability, expand opportunity, and lower the costs of everyday items that you depend on like energy bills, groceries and consumer goods.”

“This is an opportunity – for both Republicans and Democrats – to come together and create opportunity for all Americans to succeed.  For nearly two years, House Republicans have passed over 380 bills, many of which are bipartisan, that are stuck in the Democratic-controlled Senate.  Now it is up to President Obama to finally say yes to more jobs and work with Congress to enact pro-growth policies like tax reform, energy independence, patient-centered healthcare, and regulatory reform.  It’s past time we restore our freedoms to usher in an era of growth and prosperity for all.  Together we can lift up the American people, and I am hopeful for the future of this great nation.”
