Oversight and Reform

The Committee exercises strong oversight of the Executive Branch and international organizations and is pursuing numerous common-sense solutions to save U.S. tax dollars, eliminate wasteful programs, and promote U.S. interests.

In the 112th Congress, top oversight focuses of the Committee have included U.S. involvement in Libya, U.S. involvement in Central Africa, the Peace Corps, and spending by U.S. government and international organizations.  Committee Chairman Ros-Lehtinen has also spearheaded an effort to promote concrete reform at the United Nations in order to promote transparency and accountability, and to gain control over what U.S. tax dollars are paying for at the UN.
