Congressman Thompson wants to help his constituents in any way that he can. Below is a list of services that he is able to provide. Please contact our office with any questions or if you need help with an issue that is not listed:

Agency Assistance: An important part of Congressman Thompson's job is helping residents of California's 5th Congressional District navigate the complex federal agency system. Our office may be able to assist if you are having trouble working with the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the IRS, or any other federal agency.

Business Opportunities: The federal government offers many loan and technical assistance programs, including special programs for women, minorities, and veterans, as well as the addresses of leading business agencies in each state and U.S. territory. Congressman Thompson’s goal is to help connect entrepreneurs with the resources they need to grow their businesses, including financial assistance and access to capital or lending opportunities.

Help with Grants: As your representative, it is Congressman Thompson's privilege to provide you with a variety of services, among them grants services. The federal grants process can be confusing to navigate. This page can help answer your questions and serve as a resource in the application process.

Student Resources: My office has many resources for students. Whether you are looking for opportunities to volunteer or serve, completing a research project, or applying for financial aid, my office may be able to assist you.

Academy Nominations: Each year, Congressman Thompson can nominate outstanding high school graduates from the 5th Congressional District of California for appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York; the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland; the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York. Flag Requests: Constituents of California's 5th Congressional District can order a United States flag through my Washington office. There is no limit on the number of flags you may order, and if you choose, you may have the flag flown over the Capitol Building.
