Washington DC Visitors

Are you planning a visit to Washington, DC? While you are in Washington, DC, I encourage you and your family to stop by my office. Whether you're coming on a short business trip, or an extended family vacation, my office can help you make arrangements for some of the more popular Federal attractions in our Nation's Capital.

Tour Requests

We are able to help you reserve tours to the the U.S. Capitol, the Library of Congress, the Kennedy Center, the Supreme Court, and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. You may place an online tour request. These tours are an excellent way to see all that the nation's capital has to offer and all of these tours are of no charge to you. All tickets are provided to my constituents on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the large number of visitors, please request them as early as possible in order to maximize your chances. Note that the President has cancelled White House tours until further notice.

Washington, DC Tourism Information

There's more to see in Washington, DC. than just the White House or the Capitol Building. View an extensive listing of other attractions and sights to see while visiting.

Have a look at the National Theater's offerings this summer: http://www.nationaltheatre.org/art/NationalTheatreMondaySummer2013.pdf.
Mondays at 6:30 from June 17-Aug 5. All Jimmy Stewart movies this year!  Admission is free, but tickets are necessary and are distributed 30 minutes in advance.  You line up for tickets, but Mrs. Stockman's recollection is that this is a fairly well-kept secret so arriving an hour before performance time will probably be plenty of time to obtain tickets, maybe even just a half hour ahead.

Military Bands

Congressman Stockman's wife Patti particularly recommends these!

Below are the links to the various military bands' schedules; great for entertainment after the museums close.  One of these bands perfom every night somewhere in the Mall area (or at the Navy Memorial, in the case of Navy) every evening at 8:00 June-August.

Army Twilight Tatoos at Ft. Meyer in Arlington begin at 7:00 - a totally cool show everyone should see at least once.

Marines  http://www.marineband.usmc.mil/calendar/index.asp

Navy http://www.navyband.navy.mil/Event_Calendar.shtml

Air Force http://www.usafband.af.mil/events/index.asp

You'll notice the branches have their regular nights of performing on the Capitol steps at 8:00, though different groups from the band perform different weeks.  So you have to look at the day's individual listings to see, for example, whether the Army Blues or the Army Concert Band will be playing; or the Navy Commodores (rock), Country Current (Country), or Navy Concert Band - all a treat.

These are some of my favorite things about DC.
