Congressman Smith commends Obama for taking action to provide relief for millions of undocumented immigrants. In Congress, Rep. Smith has strongly advocated for deportation relief, reforms to our immigration detention policies, and for CIR. He will continue to do all he can to work with colleagues to pass a meaningful CIR bill that keeps all families together.

For the first time, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is presenting a webcast in Arabic to help individuals learn more about attaining U.S. citizenship. Congressman Smith’s staff will be hosting a viewing of the webcast at his office on Wednesday, November 19th, at 2:30pm PST to help Arabic-speaking constituents have the opportunity to learn about our immigration laws, regulations, and the necessary forms that need to be filed. In order to best represent the 9th District in Washington D.C., it is critical that I hear about the issues that are important to you. On Veterans Day, we honor the brave and heroic service of all of our veterans. The men and women of our Armed Services risk their lives around the world every day to protect our freedoms and to keep us safe. And in return, it is critical that we ensure that they and their loved ones are taken care of when they return home. In order to be more accessible and helpful for constituents, Congressman Smith and staff started mobile office hours where staff will go to public libraries throughout the 9th District and be available for anyone needing help.
