The past few weeks have proven that some Republicans intend to exploit our problems in the Middle East as a way to drag partisanship into foreign policy, malign the president, and avoid responsibility. Their constant refrain is to demand the president “produce a plan.”
Congressman Brad Sherman, a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs committte released the following statement regarding ISIS and the situtation in the Middle East.
"You’re not going to be able to destroy ISIS in the next year or two without thousands of American ground causalities. However we can contain, degrade, and punish ISIS through air strikes, coalition building and military assistance."

Sherman Oaks, CA – On Friday August 29th Congressman Brad Sherman (D – Sherman Oaks), a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, received the “Congressman of the Year Award” from the Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America.
Sherman, who is a member of the Congressional Bangladesh Caucus, received the honor for his efforts to improve US-Bangladeshi relations, increase aid, and protect religious minorities from persecution.
