Military Academy Nominations

Instructions

Thank you for your interest in the U.S. Service Academies. As your 3rd District Representative in the U.S. House of Representatives, each year I have the privilege of nominating a limited number of people to four of the five service academies. The honor of attending a service academy comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. For more information, please review my page of Frequently Asked Questions for those seeking a Military Academy Nomination. Best wishes to you as you pursue your goal of attending one of the U.S. Service Academies and serving our country.

Each year, I have the privilege of nominating a limited number of district residents to be considered by the academies. I encourage anyone considering a military career between the ages of 17 and 23 to keep the academies in mind.

All applications for nomination must be received by my office by November 3, 2014. You can call my Mount Laurel District Office at (856) 780-6436 to request a nomination packet. Applications are accepted for the Military, Naval, Air Force, and Merchant Marine Academies.

In order to be considered, all applicants must submit the following information:

  1. A Completed Application for Nomination Form
  2. High school, preparatory school, or college record (if candidate has started college)
  3. Results of latest SAT or Achievement Test
  4. Essay of 400 words or detailing why you wish to attend a Service Academy and why you should be considered for nomination
  5. Three letters of recommendation
  6. Formal resume consisting of extracurricular activities and work experience
  7. Candidate number(s) from each Academy to which you are applying
  8. Recent photograph

It is also suggested that you contact the academies in which you have an interest, so they may also initiate a file. Should you have any questions or would like additional information, please feel free to contact my Mount Laurel District Office at (856) 780-6436.
