Congressman Mike Quigley

Representing the 5th District of Illinois

Transportation

Mike believes that rebuilding our infrastructure is tantamount to spurring economic growth. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was a step in the right direction.  It is most important to invest in long-term projects seeking to modernize our national infrastructure, providing efficient and safe transportation of goods and people, reducing congestion and pollution. Transparency and accountability are critical throughout the process, so Mike has visited some of these job boosting projects to ensure that taxpayer dollars are being spent efficiently.

In his third term in Congress, Mike serves on the House Committee on Appropriations, where he has prioritized Chicago-area infrastructure investment as a member of the Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies. Mike is also a member of the New Democrat Coalition, which sees infrastructure investment as a path to global economic competitiveness and America’s future security.
