Constituent Casework Explained:

As Representative of the 4th District, an important aspect of my job is providing constituents with assistance in dealing with federal agencies. If you are experiencing a problem with a federal agency, and live in the 4th Congressional District of Texas, I can act on your behalf as a facilitator between you and the agency in an effort to resolve the issue.

In instances where you would like my help, this is considered "casework." My staff and I will open a case on your behalf and work to help you with the federal agency. Although my staff cannot guarantee a particular outcome regarding your concern, they will do their best to ensure your case is fairly and thoroughly reviewed, and that you receive a timely response to your concern.

How to Open a Case for Assistance with a Federal Agency:

Please be aware that, in order for me to make inquiries on your behalf, the Privacy Act of 1974 requires you to fill out a Congressional Inquiry Form that grants me permission to contact the agency.  If you are represented by counsel, I am also required to obtain their permission to assist with the case.

If you are contacting me on behalf of another constituent experiencing difficulty with a federal agency, my staff will be happy to listen to your concerns but we will need the written consent of the constituent who is experiencing difficulty with the agency in order to provide assistance. We therefore encourage you to have constituents contact the office themselves in order to provide more direct help.

Because casework relates to constituents personally, the most efficient way to seek help with a federal agency is by contacting a District office in one of the Counties listed below.
