As a member of the Immigration Reform Caucus, I have an opportunity to work with my colleagues to develop a comprehensive immigration reform package. Our current immigration system is broken and must be repaired. Immigration reform would be beneficial not only to immigrants and American citizens, but also to our economy.

We must first enforce border security to stop the flow of undocumented immigrants into the United States. If we don’t, our school systems, health care delivery systems, and national security will continue to be compromised. Our law enforcement officers on the border face many challenges to protect national security and properly enforce the law. We need to look at solutions that will allow them to work more efficiently and effectively, such as increased border patrol and technology along our borders.

I have continuously pressed for enforcement of our current immigration laws and have consistently supported legislation aimed at reducing undocumented immigration, strengthening our borders, holding individuals who employ undocumented immigrants accountable for breaking the law, and reducing the incentives that attract undocumented immigrants to the United States.

A majority of 4th District constituents and the American people believe America’s current immigration system is broken and reforms are necessary.

My first priority is to listen to the concerns of my constituents. I value your input on this important issue and encourage you to take the survey on my website– your information and responses will be kept private.
