Would You Like to Join the Student Advisory Board?

Representative Eshoo established the 18th Congressional District Student Advisory Board in 1993 to give young people a voice in our government. Congresswoman Eshoo relies on the District's Student Advisory Board to keep her informed on the ideas and opinions of her student constituents.

The Student Advisory Board is made up of high school students who live in or attend a school in the 18th Congressional District. The Board has researched topics and polled students on issues important to young people and made recommendations on legislation being considered in Congress. Their most recent reports have covered topics such as alternative energy, medical ethics, campaign finance and election reform, education reform, and gun control.

Every September, Congresswoman Eshoo sends applications to all high school principals in the District. Students interested in joining the Board can obtain an application from their principal and return it to the Palo Alto office.

The application process for the 2014-2015 Student Advisory Board is now open.
