Awarded through the differing departments of the federal government, each federal agency has specific criteria that any applicant must meet in order to qualify and be considered for grant approval. State Funding Sources

Private Funding Sources

In addition to government sources, financial assistance is available through many private institutions and non-profit organizations. Accordingly, each benefactor has specific guidelines that must be met to be considered for an award. A valuable, comprehensive database which includes the application procedures and contact information for grants offered by such private and non-profit organizations is maintained by non-profit The Foundation Center.

In addition to using the internet, South Jersey residents can access The Foundation Center's database at two local sites. Through "Cooperating Collection" agreements with both the Cumberland County College and the United Way of Atlantic County, the online database is available at the locations below for review, free of charge, by the public:
