Federal Flood Assistance Information

Did you suffer the effects of the flood in Southeast Michigan? The White House has approved the emergency declaration request for assistance, and you might be eligible to receive federal help. Residents have until December 14, 2014 to apply for assistance.

If you need assistance you can immediately apply for grants for uninsured home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to recover from the effects of last month’s flooding. Register today at www.disasterassistance.gov or phone 1-800-621-3362. For more information on guidelines please visit → http://on.freep.com/1uwRx8C

Disaster Survivor Assistance Specialists

FEMA has disaster survivor assistance specialists (DSAs) in the designated counties canvassing neighborhoods. They are providing on-site registration assistance, addressing immediate and emerging needs, and answering any questions specific to the registration process. DSA members can be identified easily by their photo badges and FEMA clothing. Residents should ask for federal identification before providing personal information.
