Are you a college student interested in learning more about the workings of the United States Senate and federal legislation affecting Arkansans?  If so, you should consider applying to intern in any of my seven offices across Arkansas or my Washington, D.C. office.

By assisting my state staff, interns have the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge about how a Senator’s office provides constituent services, interacts with the community and serves as a liaison to the Washington, D.C. office.

Interns in the Washington, D.C. office will have an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and the federal government by working closely with the legislative, communications and constituent services staff members.

Along with this incredible experience, interns in my office will receive academic credit for their work.

During the spring, we offer semester long internships in our seven state offices and our Washington, D.C. Office. The 2015 spring session in Washington is scheduled for January 12^th – May 15^th. Internships in Arkansas are January 12^th – April 24^th. The deadline to apply is November 21, 2014.

All internships in my office are unpaid and candidates who are chosen for the Washington, D.C. office will be responsible for paying their travel and living expenses.  

Our internship program is open to all area college students, regardless of major.

Candidates must complete at least two years of college work prior to their internship and must either be a U.S. citizen or are in the U.S. legally.
