District Export Promotion Program

My number one priority is creating jobs. That is why I strongly support helping businesses in Northwest Washington export their products and create jobs here at home. More than one in three jobs in Washington state depend on trade, and the pay for these jobs is about 46 percent more than the overall state average. As your representative in Congress, I am committed to ensuring that government is doing what it can to help our small businesses expand and prosper.

Local Export Program

My District Export Promotion Program helps to link small businesses with local, state, and federal resources that help companies sell their products to other countries and create jobs here at home.  The local export program is about connecting local small and medium sized businesses with the people and resources they need to export their goods overseas. This program includes the following initiatives:

  1. Targeted Assistance Groups: Targeted Assistance Groups are small groups of companies that I have brought together to meet with trade specialists from state and federal agencies so that members can ask specific questions about their individual needs and concerns.
  2. District Export Experts: My office works with local business leaders with export experience to gain insight on various export promotion proposals. These leaders are a valuable resource for companies looking to expand their exports.Outreach Staff: My office has outreach staff who are experts in the various state and federal programs available to help these businesses export their goods overseas.
  3. Outreach Staff: My office has outreach staff who are experts in various state and federal programs available to help these businesses export their goods.
  4. Export Training: I am working with U.S. Commercial Services and private industry partners to conduct export training seminars for small business.
