I applaud the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for affirming that $1.75 billion of Iranian money should be distributed to the families of the victims of the 1983 Marine Corps barracks bombing in Beirut, Lebanon. While no amount of money will ease the pain these individuals have suffered, this ruling is a small token of justice and reiterates the fact that acts of violence against American service members cannot be executed without consequences.

In Eastern North Carolina, we continue to see the negative economic impact of unnecessary regulations related to the Endangered Species Act. Many of these regulations are based on suspect science and implemented in addition to other measures. That's why I voted for common-sense reforms that will ensure the economy and other concerns are fully considered before new regulations are enacted.

Thanks to Breitbart for highlighting my stand for the immediate, strict enforcement of our immigration laws - including securing our borders, deporting those who have arrived illegally, and making it clear that such behavior will not be rewarded with citizenship in the future.

It is estimated that each state is home to the unclaimed remains of 1,000 veterans - each of whom deserves to be honored with a proper burial. I will continue to do everything I can to support the effort to bring each of these service members to a final resting place.
