CONGRESSMAN KENNEDY STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT'S EXECUTIVE ACTION
Newton, MA -- Congressman Joe Kennedy III released the following statement regarding President Obama’s immigration executive action.
“For too long families and communities have suffered the consequences of our nation’s broken immigration system. Faced with unilateral, unyielding inaction on behalf of Republican Leadership, President Obama used his constitutional authority to ensure our immigration enforcement is fair and just. While I commend the President on his decision, his executive action is not a substitute for the comprehensive immigration reform demanded by the majority of the American people. I will continue to call on House Republicans to allow a vote on the bipartisan immigration bill that will keep hard-working families together, fix our badly broken deportation system, strengthen border security and support our businesses.”
