Congressman Bill Cassidy

Representing the 6th District of LOUISIANA

Transportation

Home to the Port of Baton Rouge and several key interstate arteries, the Sixth District is a major transportation hub.  Louisiana residents are increasingly living and working in and around the economically productive I-10/I-12 corridor.  The concentration of Louisianans into a small geographic area has strained existing infrastructure.

A large part of Louisiana’s economy depends on this I-10/I-12 corridor.  It is vital to our energy, petrochemical, and agriculture industries.  Furthermore, since Louisiana is home to a large share of our nation’s energy production and infrastructure, American energy security is dependent on infrastructure in this region.

Because strong infrastructure is so important to our economy, Dr. Cassidy is working to address the levee and lock issues that are especially important to post-hurricane Louisiana, as well as traditional transportation infrastructure projects that will ease congestion and provide for longer term growth.
