Request a Flag

Sen. Bill Nelson's office accepts requests to have an American flag flown over the United States Capitol at your request. 

The flag can be flown on any day of the year to honor special occasions, events and holidays. A certificate will accompany each flag you order, showing the day it was flown and the occasion for which it was flown. 

To request a flag from Nelson's office you can either submit a request online or print out a flag request form and mail it in. Requests made online must be paid for using bank account or credit/debit card information. A mailed-in flag request form will require you to send a personal check or money order for the cost of the flag. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ONLINE REQUESTS 

Please submit your flag request no later than a week before the fly date and no more than 30 days in advance of the fly date. After the flag has flown, please allow approximately 3 to 4 weeks to receive your flag. The flag office requires 2 weeks to fulfill a request after the fly date. Once the request is filled, flags are mailed out via regular postal mail and take 1 to 2 weeks for delivery. Because of the complexity of flying such a high volume of flags, we are unable to provide refunds or order cancellations 24 hours after a flag request transaction.

Option 1 (Fastest Method): Submit Your Flag Order Online (no more than 30 days in advance of the fly date)

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR MAILED IN FLAG REQUESTS

Please allow 8-10 weeks for Nelson's office to process your flag request, especially if you would like your flag flown on a specific date. Our mail process takes several weeks because of the Senate security process, and the flag office requires 2 weeks to fulfill a request. Once the request is filled, flags are mailed out via regular postal mail and take 1 to 2 weeks for delivery. 

Option 2: Fill Out and Print the Flag Requests Form

Click on the "Print Form" button at the bottom of the page when completed, or the "Save Form" button to save a copy of the form to your computer to print at a later time. The form will automatically calculate costs for you. This form requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Mail a printed copy of the completed form along with a check or money order made out to "Keeper of the Stationery" to:
