Committees
Sen. Bill Nelson serves on five committees. He is the chairman of one, and of one subcommittee.
Special Committee on Aging
Chairman. Oversees various issues concerning seniors including retirement security, nursing home quality, consumer scams against seniors and prescription drug prices.
Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation
Senior member. Has jurisdiction over a broad range of issues from transportation to the internet to the nation’s space program. The space program is overseen by the Science and Space subcommittee which is chaired by Nelson.
Committee on Finance
Senior member. Among its chief duties is oversight of the federal tax code.
