Secretary of the Republican Conference

Congresswoman Foxx was elected by her peers to serve as the House GOP Conference Secretary for the 113th Congress, one of eight elected leadership positions within the GOP Conference.

The Conference is responsible for electing House Republican leadership, approving GOP Member committee assignments, managing leadership-driven floor debates, and executing a communications strategy that is both implemented within the party and conveyed to our constituents.

As part of the House leadership team, Congresswoman Foxx regularly takes a stand for the principles of individual freedom and limited government and urges the Republican Conference to function as a vehicle in the capitol to accomplish good for our nation.

Internally, the Conference provides a wide variety of services to Members and their staffs. Services include daily legislative materials, visual media production, educational events and briefings, training seminars, issue-specific talking points, and assistance with press events and materials.

Externally, the House Republican Conference coordinates media for leadership events, dispatches Members to participate in TV and radio interviews, and generally communicates the House Republican message to the public. As Secretary, Congresswoman Foxx holds the additional responsibility of running a GOP Job Bank and Resume Bank.  These resources are available to anyone looking for a job on the Hill as well as my colleagues who are looking to hire qualified staff to fill positions in their capitol or district offices.
