Inhofe Asks Oklahomans to Share How ObamaCare is Impacting Their Healthcare

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) today announced the launch of a new web page entitled “Your Story” for the purpose of hearing how the Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly known as ObamaCare, is impacting Oklahomans.

“President Obama promised the American people time and again that ‘if you like your plan you can keep it,’ but millions of people across America and throughout Oklahoma are finding that not to be the case,” said Inhofe. “When I travel across the state, I hear stories of people losing access to their doctors or of their premium and deductibles skyrocketing since the launch of HealthCare.gov. I am asking Oklahomans to submit their stories of how ObamaCare is impacting their healthcare so that I can best work with my Senate colleagues to protect Oklahomans from further fallout. I am committed to addressing Oklahomans' concerns and replacing ObamaCare with common-sense healthcare reform.”

Oklahomans can submit their story by visiting: http://www.inhofe.senate.gov/feedback/yourstory

Since 2010, Inhofe has supported efforts and cosponsored legislation to repeal and defund ObamaCare. Inhofe is also a cosponsor of the following efforts to improve Oklahomans’ healthcare:

The Medical Care Access Protection (MCAP) Act (S.44), a bill that would reform the medical malpractice claim system to help reduce costly, excessive lawsuits and help to improve patient safety and quality of care.

Family and Retirement Health Investment Act (S.1031), a bill that would strengthen and expand Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Arrangements (FSAs).

Preventing and Reducing Improper Medicare and Medicaid Expenditures (PRIME) Act (S.1123), a bill that would enact stronger penalties for Medicare and Medicaid fraud and establish stronger fraud and waste prevention strategies; curb improper payments made by the programs; curb the theft of physician identities; and improve the sharing of fraud data across state and federal agencies and programs.

Delay the employer and Individual ACA mandates (S.1488), a bill that would delay the ACA mandates on employers and individuals until 2015. Inhofe is also a cosponsor of bills to ultimately repeal both the employer mandate (S.399) and the individual mandate (S.4).

No Exemption for Washington from ObamaCare Act (S.1497), a bill that would eliminate premium subsidies for Congress and staff and extends exchange requirements to the executive branch.

If You Like Your Plan You Can Keep It Act (S.1617), a bill that would expand grandfathering of healthcare plans to include any plan currently in existence.
