Immigration

I have long supported three key principles in any immigration reform legislation.   I insist on that immigration solutions do not grant amnesty, shortcut the naturalization process, or ignore our nation’s laws by rewarding illegal activity.  Our constituents throughout the country have spoken loud and clear and elected officials in Washington, D.C. should listen.

I have long been involved in the immigration debate proposing legislation to address America’s porous borders and providing real enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws.  I have consistently offered legislation that would make English the official language of the United States.  Finally, I have consistently stood up to the federal bureaucracies and defended the rights of states, especially those on the border, to protect themselves, their citizens, and their property from those that enter the country illegally.

As Congress seeks to address immigration reform again, I cannot support any legislation which does not provide border security or grants short cuts or amnesty to those who disregard our laws.
