Federal Spending

Americans know that more government is not the solution to our problems.  The federal policies of bailouts, stimulus, and unprecedented growth of federal programs must stop.  Americans need individual freedoms and not a federal government intruding more into our lives.

Americans know they are over-regulated and over-taxed.  They know that Washington, D.C. has a spending problem.  I have consistently opposed the massive $700 billion government bailouts of the banking and auto industries, which we saw in TARP.  I have also been a vocal critic of the Presidents’ $825 billion stimulus package, which was the first legislation signed by President Obama.  With annual deficits of over $1 trillion and a national debt approaching $17 trillion, Americans need a thriving economy and private sector jobs, not more government spending which has only saddled us with suffocating debt.

Throughout my career in the private sector and in government service, I have stood up to the bureaucracies which stand in the way of economic development, and I have held the federal government accountable for over-regulation.  I am fully committed to a limited government.   With high unemployment, American families and workers have struggled to make ends meet.  In the past few years, we have seen a massive increase in the size of government while over-regulation has negatively impacted the economy by threatening private sector job creation.  I will always advocate for lower taxes and less government intrusion, which are proven means of improving the nation’s economy.
