Visiting DC

Visiting Washington, D.C. is an exciting and educational experience. My door is always open to you, so please don't hesitate to stop by my office to visit with me and my staff. In addition, my staff can serve as a resource to you in booking tours for your trip. Please fill out our Tour Request Form or call my Washington, D.C. Office at (202) 224-5521. You will need to submit all security information to our office for White House tours at least three weeks in advance.

Below is information about some of the most popular tours.

  • United States Capitol

    General Admission tickets for the United States Capitol are available Monday through Saturday on a first come first serve basis, so arrive early. Tickets are distributed beginning at 8:00 a.m., and tours are conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

    Congressional staff led tours are also available daily. Please contact my office at (202) 224-5521 for information on tour times and to reserve your spot.

  • The White House

    The White House offers tours of the East Wing, which my office can help submit a request for on your behalf.  Tours are scheduled on a first come, first served basis and can be submitted up to six months in advance, but no less than 21 days prior to your requested dates.  You are encouraged to submit your request as early as possible, as there are a limited number of spaces available.  The White House also requires that security information be submitted as part of your tour application.  All White House tours are free of charge.  (Please note that our office cannot guarantee that your group will be approved and White House tours may be subject to last minute cancellation.)

  • National Cathedral

    The Washington National Cathedral is a national landmark and is open for anyone to enjoy. There are many different ways to explore the Cathedral, whether on your own or with a guide. My office can help arrange a tour for you and your family that explores the history, art, and architecture of the Cathedral.

  • Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

    The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is the busiest performing arts facility in the United States, which provides a variety of theater and musicals, dance and ballet, orchestral, chamber, popular, world, and folk music, and multimedia performances for all ages.  My office can help coordinate a behind the scenes tour of the building and the Millennial stage.

  • Supreme Court

    The Supreme Court is the highest court in the United States.  My office can help coordinate a Congressional Lecture, which provides an overview of the judicial functions of the Supreme Court and the architecture of the building.  Afterwards, visitors are encouraged to explore the public spaces of the building where you will find numerous exhibitions.

  • Library of Congress

    The Library of Congress is one of the oldest and largest research libraries in the world.  My office can help arrange a private tour of the historic Thomas Jefferson Building that encompasses the history of the Library and the building’s symbolic art and architecture.
