Academy Nominations

As one of Indiana's U.S. Senators, Joe is honored to have the opportunity to nominate outstanding young people from our state to the Armed Forces’ service academies. Our nation’s prestigious service academies provide young men and women with a top-quality college education and prepare them for successful careers as officers in the military.

Internships

We are currently accepting internship applications for the summer sessions in both Washington, D.C. and Indianapolis. The deadline to apply for the Summer I session in the Washington office is March 2, 2015 and the deadline to apply for the Summer II session in the Washington office is March 30, 2015.  The deadline to apply for the Summer 2015 session in an Indiana office is March 13, 2015.

Page Program

Thank you for your interest in the United States Senate Page Program. Page eligibility is limited to high school juniors who will be 16 or 17 years old on or before the date of the appointment. Pages live in Washington, DC and learn about and contribute to the Legislative branch of the federal government.

Avon School

Student Youth Program

The Senate Youth Program is an educational experience for high performing junior and senior high school students interested in careers in politics and public service. Started in 1962, the United States Senate brings two students representatives from each state to spend a week in Washington to learn about governance in addition to a onetime five thousand dollar undergraduate college scholarship.
