Hagan's new bill ensures servicemembers, veterans and their families get the education benefits they have earned.
Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Kay Hagan, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, spoke on the Senate floor this afternoon about legislation she introduced with Senator Mark Pryor (AR) to prevent cuts to the military pension cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) from taking effect in December 2015. The Senate is considering the legislation this week.
Following passage of a bipartisan budget deal in December, Hagan immediately introduced legislation to repeal the harmful COLA cuts for all veterans.
Senator Hagan released a video, "Day in the Life: State of the Union Edition," of her day with North Carolina's Teacher of the Year Karyn Dickerson, who joined Hagan for the State of the Union address.
