Congressman Blackburn is leading the fight in Congress to Delay, Defund, Repeal, and Replace Obamacare with her legislation, H.R. 2809, that would delay all Obamacare provisions and taxes for one year. H.R. 2809 builds on efforts already taken by the House to delay both the individual and employer mandates. The Obama administration has already agreed to delay the employer mandate for one year, a glaring sign that even President Obama recognizes this law is not ready for primetime.

Delaying Obamacare gives us the best chance to defund it because the administration will be unable to reprogram money, collect new taxes, provide subsidies or expand Medicaid -- all things that put the taxpayers further on the hook for this law. In fairness to hard-working taxpayers the best thing we can do right now is to implement a one year delay so we can continue to chip away at this disastrous law.

Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) is the sponsor of S. 1490, which is the Senate companion bill to Congressman Blackburn's legislation. 18 free market groups led by Americans for Tax Reform have signed a letter in support of the Blackburn/Flake delay effort. Read the letter HERE.

Congressman Blackburn understands that the rising cost of health care coverage is unsustainable.  She also knows that the current health care market leaves too many Americans without the care they need at a price they can afford.  She believes that market based reforms, that put patients and not Federal bureaucrats in the drivers seat, are the best means to expand access at a lower cost.

To that end, Congressman Blackburn has reintroduced her legislation, H.R. 762, that would allow Americans to shop for health care insurance across state lines, allowing insurance companies to compete for your business. She has supported moves by House Republicans to repeal ObamaCare and was one of the first Members to introduce legislation to replace it.  For more information on The Health Care Choice Act, please click here.

Much of the health care debate you will see in this Congress is a result of the law passed in the 111th Congress- a law that even supporters acknowledge is filled with unworkable levels of bureaucracy.  You can find material on that debate below:
