Academy Nominations

The President of the United States, the Vice President, Members of Congress, and other agencies and organizations have the authority to nominate individuals to a military service academy. If you have a question about a specific academy, please contact the academy's admissions office directly. In addition to applying for a nomination, all applicants must apply directly to the service academies. You can find out more about our great military academies at the following links:

2014 Application Dates

  • April 8, 2014 - Application Process Opens
  • October 10, 2014 - Application Process Closes
  • November 8, 2014 - Interview Day in Albuquerque (all candidates that submit a complete application packet by the October 10 deadline will be invited to interview)

Service Academy Nomination Application

You can apply for my nomination to a service academy online. I have compiled a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) to better help you understand the application and nomination process. Click here to download the FAQ document. To create an account and begin an application, please click on the link below.

In order to apply for a nomination with my office, you will be required to complete and submit the following:

(1) Online Questionnaire and Essay
(2) Two Letters of Recommendation*
(3) A Counselor Evaluation form
(4) Official Academic Transcripts
(5) ACT and/or SAT Scores

*All letters of recommendation should be submitted electronically from the authors to academy_letters@tomudall.senate.gov.

Please remember that in addition to applying for a nomination with my office, you must also apply with the service academy that you wish to be selected for admission at.

NOTE: When requesting ACT or SAT scores, please use the following codes to submit them to our office: 7162 for ACT and 4642 for SAT

Counselor Evaluation

The Service Academy Nomination Application requires an evaluation from the candidate's counselor or principal.

2014 Military Service Academy Information Nights

Every year my office hosts military service academy information nights to field questions from prospective applicants and parents. These sessions are a great opportunity to learn more about the nominating process and to meet with representatives from the different academies and N.M. collegiate ROTC programs. Current academy nights are scheduled for:

Free parking in the "A" lot beginning at 5:30 pm (corner of Central & Stanford - large lot south of Johnson Gym and athletic field
