I am happy to assist Illinois residents in purchasing flags flown over the U.S. Capitol for special events. You will receive, with your flag, a certificate to commemorate the event. The certificate may be personalized with a person's name, the occasion for which the flag is being flown, as well as a specific date. There are two options to request a flag:

Option 1 (Fastest Method): Submit Your Flag Order Online
Begin the flag request process online. You will be redirected to Pay.gov, a website operated by the United States Department of the Treasury used to make secure electronic payments to federal government agencies.

Option 2: Download and Print the Flag Request Form
To submit a flag request, please fill out our form and mail it to the Washington, D.C. office:

I am also honored to provide a 3x5 Nylon flag that has been flown over the Capitol to Veterans, Girl Scouts receiving the Gold Award, and Boy Scouts attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. For Veterans, please fill out our request form and submit the appropriate discharge papers. For Girl Scouts and Eagle Scouts, please submit an official letter from the Troop, including the Scout's name and address. In order to comply with Senate Ethic Rules, this request must be written on Troop letterhead. It is helpful to include a phone number with your request in case any clarifications are needed to complete the shipment.
