Today’s short-term, mostly retroactive extension of many of these tax provisions is the absolute minimum necessary. Without a longer-term extension, at least through 2015, businesses, workers, and investors will again be forced to deal with the uncertainty that these types of halt-then-hurry policies create.

Representing Iowa, a state that produces over 27 percent of its electricity from wind and the third most amount of wind in the country, Congressman Loebsack has been a leader in pushing clean, renewable, and homegrown energy policies. Congressman Loebsack is a champion for issues like renewing the wind production tax credit to help cut our dependence on fossil fuels and to invest in jobs in Iowa’s Second Congressional District, one of the only districts that manufactures all the parts for a wind turbine. He has also been a champion of programs such as the Rural Energy for America Program to help rural businesses become more energy efficient and produce their own renewable power.
