I testified before the Energy and Commerce subcommittee on July 24 about my legislation to crack down on con-artists and unscrupulous telemarketers. The Anti Spoofing Act would combat “spoofing,” the displaying of bogus names and numbers on caller IDs that trick you and millions of Americans into answering your phone or replying to text messages.

I introduced legislation with Rep. Capps (D-Calif) and Sen. Markey (D-Mass) to ban dangerous BPA chemicals from food and beverage containers. Banning BPA and other poisonous additives is simply the right thing to do.
