Today, Representative Kerry Bentivolio announced that his office is collecting food and personal care items for various food banks and shelters across Michigan’s 11th Congressional District.
 
Non-perishable food and personal care items can be dropped off at 800 Welch Rd., Commerce, MI from Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM until Friday, December 12th.

GOP bill cuts member pay as punishment for budget deficit

Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-Mich.) on Wednesday proposed a new bill that would require congressional salaries to be cut 15 percent any time Congress fails to balance the budget.

Bentivolio said his Spending Accountability Act, H.R. 3993, is needed to give Congress an incentive to cut the annual budget deficit, which is now at $600 billion per year and expected to rise.

100 Congressmen Cosponsor Rep. Bentivolio’s Safe and Secure Federal Websites Act

Following new revelations that the ObamaCare website, healthcare.gov, still lacks basic security protections, support for Rep. Bentivolio’s Safe and Secure Federal Websites Act attained 100 cosponsors this week.

Four committee chairmen, two-thirds of the Republican members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and three past and present chairmen of the Republican Study Committee count themselves among cosponsoring supporters of Rep. Bentivolio’s bill.

Boeing should relocate to Michigan, says U.S. Rep. Bentivolio

With Boeing involved in a contract dispute with machinists at its Seattle home, U.S. Rep. Kerry Bentivolio, R-Milford, thinks the aircraft maker could find a very suitable new home in Michigan.

“Michigan may not have the coffee Seattle does, but what we do have is highly skilled, hardworking people with a rich history in manufacturing,” Bentivolio said in the letter dated Wednesday to Boeing CEO W. James McNerney Jr.

“We put the 20th century on the road,” he wrote. “We’d love to have the opportunity to put the 21st century in the air.”

Rep. Bentivolio cosponsors bill to increase fiscal transparency

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Kerry Bentivolio announced his co-sponsorship of HR 2967, the Intergeneration Financial Obligations (INFORM) Act. Several estimates suggest that the federal government has tens of trillions on dollars in unfunded liabilities. The INFORM Act requires the federal government to expose the truth about those unfunded liabilities by reporting various statistics throughout the budgeting process, allowing Americans to assess the promises being made by Congress.
