Managed IPTV, OTT to drive fixed broadband growth
Consumer demand for managed IPTV and over-the-top content services will drive fixed broadband into 745 million homes worldwide by 2017, according to a study released by Digital TV Research. That forecast sees the market growing from 473 million in 2010 and 578 million by the end of this year.
Yale unlocking campus-wide IPTV service
Yale University is preparing to launch an on-campus IPTV service with about 30 channels of high definition programming provided by Comcast. The video will be available to students living on campus via computer screens.
