Spotlight: Federal Coordinating Officer Albert (Albie) Lewis
Albert “Albie” Lewis, Federal Coordinating Officer for DR-4087-CT, hails from Berlin, VT. He has served as an FCO on more than 17 disasters. Albie retired from military duty as a Colonel in 2001. An Army War College and General Staff College graduate, his military career spanned 28 years, mostly with the Vermont National Guard.
After retiring, he served as the director of Vermont Emergency Management. Albie has served as a volunteer fire chief and holds many fire service certifications. He holds a bachelor’s degree and two Master’s degrees. Albie is a Certified Emergency Manager and completed Harvard’s National Preparedness Leadership Initiative in 2010. He is also an instructor at the Emergency Management Institute in Emmittsburg, MD.
Hurricane Sandy Response and Recovery Information
The following counties and tribal nations have been designated for Public Assistance: Fairfield, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, Tolland, Windham and the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Tribal Nations in New London County. These seven counties and both tribal nations are eligible for permanent work to repair and rebuild disaster-damaged infrastructure as well as costs for debris removal and emergency protective measures.
