I strongly condemn this heinous crime that killed and wounded so many young beautiful children, as well as teachers and educators. Such abominable act has no place in our country. We cannot tolerate and allow a handful of people to terrorize our communities.Charles Rangel shared a link via Ways and Means Committee Democrats.
It's time for Speaker Boehner to #DoTheRightThing and pass the middle class tax cuts. Americans need the Republicans to stop blocking a vote to extend middle class tax cuts and which would not extend the tax cuts for the top two percent.- Likes

A new White House report shows that income taxes would go up for nearly 7.3 million middle class families in New York on January 1, 2013, if tax cuts such as the expanded Child Tax Credit, the 10 percent tax bracket, marriage penalty relief..., and the American Opportunity Tax Credit for college expire were not extended. It is time that we stop playing political games so that we can provide some financial certainty to our New York's middle class families. Time is running out and we cannot afford more stalemates or delay.See MoreCharles Rangel shared a link.
A typical middle class family of four would see its taxes rise by $2,200 starting in 2013. Middle-class families can’t afford that. A tax hike of about $2,000 means less money to buy groceries for fill a prescription. It means a tougher choice between paying the rent and paying tuition. What does $2K mean to you? #My2KCharles Rangel shared a link.

Unless Congress acts, hitting the so-called “fiscal cliff” would have a devastating impact on our community, raising taxes, slashing funding to our schools and ending unemployment compensation.

Earlier this week President Obama said when the American people speak loudly, Congress acts. I couldn't agree more with the President. We must urge House Republicans to pass the middle class tax cut already approved by the Senate, which the President is ready to sign immediately. The President has asked all Americans to tweet what $2000 means for your families using the hashtag #My2K. So I'm asking you to join this effort.Charles Rangel shared a link.
This new report by the CBO shows us how critical it is to extend the federal jobless benefits before they expire on December 29th.These benefits help to provide financial security to people who have been laid off due to no fault of their ow...n. They will also generate demand for goods and services. An additional report prepared earlier this month by the House Ways and Means Committee Democrats showed that if Congress fails to act by the end of this year, more than two million Americans, including 200,000 New Yorkers, would lose their benefits.See MoreCharles Rangel shared a link.
