  1. I join America to mourn for the innocent lives that were tragically taken away in this devastating shooting. We send our prayers for the parents and families of the victims as we share our grief over their loss. I stand with the nation in s...
howing full support to the Newtown community as they cope with the shock and pain.

I strongly condemn this heinous crime that killed and wounded so many young beautiful children, as well as teachers and educators. Such abominable act has no place in our country. We cannot tolerate and allow a handful of people to terrorize our communities.

  3. It's time for Speaker Boehner to #DoTheRightThing and pass the middle class tax cuts. Americans need the Republicans to stop blocking a vote to extend middle class tax cuts and which would not extend the tax cuts for the top two percent.
  4. Today on the House Floor, Democrats are urging House Republicans to allow the House to vote on extending tax cuts for middle class families and small businesses. Click “like” if you believe Republicans should do the right thing and protect the middle class while fiscal cliff negotiations continue.

  6. A new White House report shows that income taxes would go up for nearly 7.3 million middle class families in New York on January 1, 2013, if tax cuts such as the expanded Child Tax Credit, the 10 percent tax bracket, marriage penalty relief...
, and the American Opportunity Tax Credit for college expire were not extended. It is time that we stop playing political games so that we can provide some financial certainty to our New York's middle class families. Time is running out and we cannot afford more stalemates or delay.

A tax hike of about $2,000 means less money to buy groceries for fill a prescription. It means a tougher choice between paying the rent and paying tuition. What does $2K mean to you? #My2K

  10. Unless Congress acts, hitting the so-called “fiscal cliff” would have a devastating impact on our community, raising taxes, slashing funding to our schools and ending unemployment compensation.
Please let me know by completing this 4-question survey to tell me what you think Congress should do to avoid these cuts:

We must urge House Republicans to pass the middle class tax cut already approved by the Senate, which the President is ready to sign immediately. The President has asked all Americans to tweet what $2000 means for your families using the hashtag #My2K. So I'm asking you to join this effort.
