Water Resources Development Act of 2010 Requests

On behalf of the Third Congressional District, I have submitted the following list of project funding requests for the upcoming Water Resources Development Act of 2010:

Dear Chairman Oberstar and Ranking Member Mica:

I am writing to respectively requesting that the following legislative proposals and projects be included in the Water Resources Development Act of 2010. I appreciate consideration of the following projects:

1. Ecosystem Restoration project study for the Assabet River, in Marlborough and Northborough, Massachusetts

ASSABET RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS.—Project for aquatic ecosystem restoration, Assabet River, Marlborough and Northborough, Massachusetts.

This request complements the efforts by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and the communities along the Assabet River to improve the water quality and the aquatic ecosystem of the River.

2. Reconnaissance Study to uncover or daylight a half mile stretch of the Quequechan River presently channeled into piping in the City of Fall River, MA

QUEQUECHAN RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS—Project for recreation, environmental protection and restoration, and hydroelectric power, Quequechan River, Fall River, Massachusetts

This request complements the efforts by the City of Fall River, MA, to restore the ecosystem of the Quequechan River and to evaluate its potential for hydroelectric power.
