Help with a Federal Agency

One of the most important duties I have as your representative in Congress is to assist and advocate for my constituents on the federal level. My staff and I, whether in Washington or one of my four district offices, will do our best to ensure that your case gets the attention and care it deserves. If you need help communicating with a federal agency, please do not hesitate to contact one of my offices.

For your convenience, listed below are some of the most common issue areas with which my office can assist constituents. My staff have years of experience in many of these areas. If you are unsure whether we can help, please contact your nearest district office. If your particular issue is outside federal purview, my staff will make sure that you are referred to an agency or representative that can be of service.

Social Security

If you have questions about  your case or application with Social Security, whether for retirement or survivor benefits, disability benefits, Supplementary Security Income, or some other issue, my office may be able to help.

Medicare / Medicaid / Health Insurance

Whether it’s a question about Medicare or Medicaid, or if you are having difficulty getting health insurance, please call your nearest district office to speak with the staff member that specializes in this subject matter.

Veterans

As a nation we owe our veterans the utmost respect and honor for the sacrifices they have made for us, and I understand that commitment does not end when media coverage stops. I am proud to be of service to our veterans whatever the issue; from service-connected disability compensation, VA health care, home loans and educational benefits, to helping veterans obtain lost copies of military personnel records and/or medals and ribbons earned while serving. If you are a veteran or family member of a veteran and need help with a case, please call my office.

Immigration / Passports / Travel Abroad

If you or someone you know needs help with an immigration matter, from visas to green cards to work permits and much more, my office may be able to assist you by acting as liaison to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. We can also help constituents who are having Passport troubles or have a need to expedite their application with the State Department.

If you or a loved one will be traveling abroad, the U.S. State Department provides helpful travel advisories and advice. Visit the webpage here.

IRS

If you are experiencing difficulty with a federal tax matter, our office can reach out to the IRS on your behalf to help ensure that you receive a fair and timely response.

Housing

Whether you have a question about home loan modifications, foreclosure, first-time home buyer assistance programs or federally subsidized housing, call your nearest district office to find out how we may be of service.

Unemployment

If you have questions regarding an unemployment claim, my knowledgeable staff can work with the unemployment office on your behalf to discover the status of your claim.

Student Loans

My office can help with questions about FAFSA applications, repayment options, and federal loan consolidations.
